Recently I have been realllly busy balancing everything but have mainly been at Stylorouge designing loads and loads of album covers/logos/t-shirts for various companies. I have started to do a lot more hand drawing again and will scan these in as soon as I get a chance!

MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

Hello hello,

Today is a more serious post - myself and my family will be taking part in the Macmillan Cancer Support 10k Fun Run this coming June in a bid to raise money for the charity. I have had firsthand experience of what cancer can do to a family as most of my friends know, and this charity in particular supported us throughout the whole ordeal as best as they could.

SPRING AND SALAMI

Another food related post!! *shame* I have decided to start growing my own herbs as I spend a lot of moola on these tasty leaves and am sooo happy because they've started growing so quick!! It was also a lovely sunny day so my sister and I decided to do some frolicking outside with our yummy Italian lunch!

Yay for sun!! In other news, I will be starting an internship at STYLOROUGE next week and think it'll be a great experience as they are an amazing graphic design studio.

WHOOPIE!!!

I have been spending a lot more time baking and eating these home-baked goods than I should and this still hasn't stopped! Yesterday we had a go at American WHOOPIE PIES, a mix between a cake, a biscuit and a cookie with marshmallow cream in the middle.

Trying to do this in a kitchen about the size of my foot (not very big) was no mean feat, and there are quite a few processes in the recipe. Nonetheless, we came out with these:

Strawberry ripple Whoopies with desiccated coconut

and strawberry marshmallow cream

Not perfect and all shapes and sizes but still yummy

Lemon Whoopies with lemon marshmallow cream and lemon icing

The recipe I followed claimed that these were the new baking 'thing' but my verdict is I still love proper cakes more! They reminded me of scones, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and were heavier than expected.

I promise I will blog more about DESIGN in the future and stop showing you pictures of my futile baking projects...! xx

CAKES MAKE MY DAY

Today me and little sis made butterfly cakes, some classic jammy ones and some with a chocolatey twist:

We are now enjoying them with some tea and sticky fingers. It's hard work but someone's got to do it... xx

BERLIN BEARS AND BEAUTIFUL WALLS

A short trip to Berlin earlier this year brought me and the boyf freezing cold weather, delicious currywurst and beautiful art!

Below we have some colourful walls courtesy of The Berlin Wall's East Side Gallery, and millions of characteristic bears at a u-bahn station I have totally forgotten the name of...

These walls went on for miles...

So many bears in a wonderful array of colours and patterns...

Would definitely recommend you guys to visit this lovely city although maybe not in March when snow falls down by the bucketload and you get attacked by itchy chilblains.. or as me and Mr.Hoang says, 'attackkkk of the killer tomatoeeeeeessssss.....!' (My toes do go rather red and tomato shaped when I get attacked by chilblains)

WEBSITE IN THE MAKING

Good Wednesday! I am currently hard at work designing my website which is taking a LOT longer than I thought, but it's going to bring lots of lovely coloured goodness together with some hand-drawn typography. It combines things like this:

I'm hoping to get it done and dusted in a couple of weeks so keeps your eyes peeled! xx

THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

So so so, since my last proper post time and time ago (October!!) I have become GLASS MAGAZINE'S online web designer and re-designed the site back in December.

It's an online magazine that covers high end style, architecture, art and millions of other cultural goodness and we update it EVERYDAY so follow us to keep up with the latest things you need to know about! This means I am pretty much on the site every evening uploading new articles and I get to design all the article images, but the most fun I have is with the fashion and beauty section. Sorry for the ridiculously late absence - I have been hard at work as the website designer of GLASS MAGAZINE and have been working on a couple of issues of New Look's in-house mag 'MOST WANTED' hence no time to do anything else!
